Cramond Found Texts

On Tim and I’s visit to Cramond Island I was interested in what texts/signposts might already be in this place. What are these texts? How might I use them?

Before crossing the causeway there are a number of signs and instructional/informational signs:

There were also words visible on many of the bricks that were littered around the derelict brick structure on the side of the island. There was graffiti here that was repeated on other sites on the island.

While exploring this structure we realised it was a geocaching site and added our own text to the logbook on the site.

On the far side of the island, the WWII buildings lie in disrepair and are covered in graffiti, visitors to the island adding their on texts to the palimpsest of existing ones. We saw some dated 1987, 1999, 2001 and 2017.
